Horizon Forbidden West
In 2021, I had the incredible opportunity to work with Guerrilla Games on the follow-up to “Horizon Zero Dawn”, who every gamer knows is the awesome break-out title with robot-freaking-dinosaurs. and the kicker? It was 100% remote. A sign of the times that has not happened before or since. (Though, I would love to visit Amsterdam eventually!)
The focus for the Cinematic Anim. team was to punch up the quality on the conversation animations, which were the ‘meat-and-potatoes’ of the cinematic interactions throughout the game, and to focus on giving “Aloy” a little more life and personality throughout.
This was a really fun project to be apart of. I really enjoyed the interactions we got to animate with “Morlund” in Las Vegas, with his “embers” (projectors). He was so expressive, innocent and likable. It made for some fun interactions in an otherwise war-torn world of drama.
