Life is Strange: Double Exposure

Project Date:

Runtime: 2:18 mins

There is so much more than just this project reel shows, holy smokes.

After rolling off of Horizon, I took the opportunity to Lead a team of animators throughout the production of the next installment of the cult-favorite, “Life is Strange” being produced by Deck Nine Games. Max Caulfield was coming back, and there was a lot of excitement and secrecy around this one.

For 3 years of production, I supervised an internal team of 6 (up to 11), and an external team of 6 through a reported 11+ hours of total cinematic content.

The mission was to bring Max Caulfield and her group of friends to AAA fidelity, and make her more emotionally engaging than she’d appeared in her debut title for the franchise. Through a ton of research, comparisons and look development we learned ‘Max’ inside and out, and brought her back to the screen as a matured version of herself being thrust into more high Strangeness.

With so many animators on the team, a deadline, and a budget to keep – I didn’t get to claim many scenes for myself beyond just a few showcased here. The animation quality of the entire game is something I’m proud of, and my team was incredible throughout the production. I learned so much about myself as a leader, and truly got to hone my eye for detail.
